The Hunter Valley is renowned for producing some of the best Semillon in the world. These vines were planted on our Lovedale Road property in the early 90s. Pale lime green in appearance, with a bouquet of intense lemon and lime characters. This wine, in its youth, displays fresh Meyer lemon characters, a light palate, and a crisp line of refreshing acidity.

Picked from our single vineyard chardonnay sites here in the Hunter Valley. We use the traditional method to make our sparkling chardonnay that is consistent with the famous style of the Champagne region.

A small parcel of Tempranillo was transplanted on our Lovedale Road property from a friend’s vineyard in 2018. Transplanting is not common practice in viticulture, and certainly not the style of transplanting that involves the back of a ute and some precariously placed occy straps.

Sourced from the cool climate region of Hilltops, the fruit for this wine was pristine. The resulting wine is a fantastic expression of Cabernet, with great perfume and hint of oak on the nose, the palate has an exceptionally fine tannin structure giving the wine great length.

In 2000, our Lovedale Road (LDR) vineyard began its life, with Merlot being one of the pioneering varieties planted on the former cattle grazing land that Joss and Anna De Iuliis had so thoughtfully regenerated. This Merlot, a particular favourite of Joss, is crafted by Mike – a son’s way of bringing his dad joy.

Planted on clay loam over friable red clay, this soil produces exceptionally well-built Shiraz. -
