A small parcel of Tempranillo was transplanted on our Lovedale Road property from a friend’s vineyard in 2018. Transplanting is not common practice in viticulture, and certainly not the style of transplanting that involves the back of a ute and some precariously placed occy straps.

Sourced from the cool climate region of Hilltops, the fruit for this wine was pristine. The resulting wine is a fantastic expression of Cabernet, with great perfume and hint of oak on the nose, the palate has an exceptionally fine tannin structure giving the wine great length.

In 2000, our Lovedale Road (LDR) vineyard began its life, with Merlot being one of the pioneering varieties planted on the former cattle grazing land that Joss and Anna De Iuliis had so thoughtfully regenerated. This Merlot, a particular favourite of Joss, is crafted by Mike – a son’s way of bringing his dad joy.

Our magnums have been tucked away in our cellar for optimum aging. The larger format of magnum bottles assists the aging process by slowing it down. The grapes for our Single Vineyard Semillon are sourced from an iconic Hunter Valley vineyard. The fruit was hand-picked and gently whole-bunch-pressed to a tank before a slow, cool fermentation.
