We are a family-owned and operated business, and working with family can either make or break you. So in celebration of this fact, and that it’s Fathers Day in a couple of days, we sat Mike down to chat about fatherhood. In true Mike fashion, we got some above-average advice on his most important role, being a dad to two teenage girls.
Q: How would your Dad describe you?
A: A pain in the ass, that makes good wine!
Q: What did your Dad do with you growing up that you loved?
A: Going on family holidays was always a highlight. My favourite place to holiday was anywhere by the beach.
Q: What is the best piece of advice your Dad has given you?
A: That it’s not your job to embarrass your children, but it’s one of the perks!
Q: What do you enjoy most about being a Dad?
A: Embarrassing my children. Amelie is fourteen and Charlotte is eleven, so it’s an easy task.
Q: How would your kids describe you?
A: A pain in the ass, but at least it’s consistent with what my Dad says.
Q: What does your ultimate Fathers Day feast look like?
A: A smoked meat feast, think brisket, ribs, chicken wings and more. Alongside some pale ales and our 2021 Special Release Montepulciano – it couldn’t be better.
