Tasting Notes
The Story
The Hunter Valley is renowned for producing some of the best Semillon in the world. These vines are planted on our Lovedale Road property in the early 90’s.
The Wine
Pale lime green in appearance with a bouquet of intense lemon and lime characters.
This wine in it’s youth displays fresh Meyer lemon characters, a light palate, and crisp line of refreshing acidity.
The Vintage
Good rain throughout the growing season saw the vines flourish through a cool & dry extended harvest.
A slow start to vintage for 2023 compared allowed for grapes in pristine condition, with good sugar levels and great concentration of flavour.
The Potential
This wine is drinking very well as a young wine but as with Hunter Valley semillons this wine will continue to develop with further cellaring.
You’ll start to see more lemon meringue creaminess on the palate at 5+ years.
The Match
This 2023 Estate Semillon is the perfect match for seafood or any delicately flavoured dishes. Anything you put a splash of lemon on to, semillon will work perfectly with!
Enjoy alongside freshly shucked Port Stephens oysters topped with finger lime.
