The Story
In 2018 we selected the best barrels from the best blocks of shiraz on our Steven, Talga Road and LDR vineyards. Stylistically, each of these vineyards produce a key component that we blend together to produce this outstanding wine.
The Wine
Bright and fresh cherry, plums and red currants framed by silky smoked tobacco characters. The sweet spice and earthiness is exceptionally balance with fine-grained, toasty tannin. An intricately well-crafted wine that will develop beautifully with patience.
The Vintage
Low yields, small bunches and pristine fruit were the hallmarks of the 2018 vintage. A hot and dry growing and picking season resulted in high quality fruit coming off our vineyards.
The Potential
This wine has a big future ahead of it and it will continue to improve with 15 years further cellaring. Take a dozen to add to your cellar and open one each year to see the development.
The Match
Our 2018 Limited Release Shiraz would pair perfectly with a dry-aged tomahawk steak with crispy hassleback potatoes, green beans and a red wine jus.
