The Story
In 2017 we selected the best barrels from our Steven and LDR Vineyards and blended them to produce this wine. It is the style of Chardonnay that we love to drink.Fine, elegant, complex and well balanced wine, nothing like the guys who made it!
The Wine
Subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon, with a hint of green pear. The wine is balanced with the creamy vanillan texture from maturation in French Oak. Medium length on the finish makes this a balanced modern Australian Chardonnay.
The Vintage
Low yields, small bunches and exceptional fruit profile were the hallmarks of the 2017 vintage. The dry growing and picking season resulted in high quality and concentrated fruit coming off our vineyards.
The Potential
This wine is drinking very well as a young wine but will continue to improve with 8-15 years further cellaring.
The Match
Our 2017 Limited Release Chardonnay is the perfect match for grilled Spatchcock with celery leaf salad and a lemon butter sauce. Delicious!
