Tasting Notes
The Story
This handcrafted wine is a great example of a modern Hunter chardonnay. It’s one of Mike’s favourite wines to make due to its versatility as both a food-friendly and approachable wine.
The Wine
Subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon with a hint of green pear. Elegant fruit characteristics integrate with the creamy texture from the French Oak. Each sip is rounded out with a clean and vibrant finish.
The Vintage
Excellent growing conditions in 2022 led to the production of this outstanding wine. The fruit was handpicked and whole bunch pressed, then fermented in French oak barrels.
The Potential
This wine is drinking very well as a young wine but will continue to improve with 3-4 years further cellaring.
The Match
With beautiful length and finish this chardonnay should be enjoyed with spatchcocked quail with bacon and pea salad.
