Appearance
Medium red, with a vibrant purple hue.
Aroma
Lifted spice and potpourri, hint of violet.
Palate
Softer mouth feel then a traditional Touriga Nacional.
Cellaring
Drinking well now, but will continue to improve with 5 plus years further cellaring.
Notes
Originating from Portugal, Touriga Nacional is a full bodied high tannin red. It has fantastic concentration of flavour and beautiful perfume aromatics. Planted on the De Iuliis family vineyard in 2010 this is a very small release of single varietal Touriga, with a total production of only 845 bottles. Made to be enjoyed in it’s youth, it will be interesting to see how it develops after a few years.
