Tasting Notes
The Story
The Hunter Valley is renowned for producing some of the best Semillon in the world.
These semillon vines were first planted on our Lovedale Road property in the early 90’s.
The Wine
Golden and honey in colour, it has lively brioche and nutty notes that cascade along the palate. The mouthfeel is silky and soft, and the finish has refined acidity.
The Vintage
Excellent growing conditions in 2015 led to delicate and aromatic whites. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed to encourage delicate aromatics and vibrant characteristics.
The Potential
The wine is in a great spot now with a bright palate and crisp, zesty acidity. This semillon will develop gracefully over the next 10 to 15 years. If you can wait that long…
The Match
Perfect with freshly shucked Port Stephens oysters with finger lime.
Add a splash of semillon on top of the oysters and a big splash in your glass for maximum enjoyment!
