This wine showcases the enduring family history of the Lovedale Road vineyard. Expect depth of flavour, a testament to the philosophy of quality over quantity that has guided Lovedale Road vineyard, and indeed the De Iuliis story, for over two decades.

The Wilderness Road Vineyard is located on the sandy creek flats in Lovedale. The alluvial soil in this vineyard is nutrient rich producing an iconic style of Hunter Semillon known for it’s finesse and potential for your cellar.

The grapes for our Single Vineyard Semillon are sourced from an iconic Hunter Valley vineyard. The fruit was hand-picked and gently whole-bunch-pressed to a tank before a slow, cool fermentation. Refined and elegant, this Semillon has a long life ahead of it.

Mike was still in school when, in 1991, his father Joss and grandfather Charlie planted these Shiraz vines on their Lovedale Road (LDR) property. Planted on clay loam over friable red clay, this soil yields exceptionally well-built Shiraz. The 3 ha of Shiraz, sourced from heritage shiraz cuttings.

Excellent bright crimson-purple colour heralds a most attractive wine from the estate-owned Steven vineyard. Red cherry is the cornerstone of the bouquet and palate alike. Typical Hunter shiraz, only medium bodied, but with decades to run for those able to keep their hands off it. – James Halliday

The historic Steven vineyard was planted in 1968. Ever since the red volcanic soils have produced some of the Hunter Valley’s most outstanding wines. This 2021 vintage is a classic Hunter Valley shiraz, with great fruit, spice and elegance. A medium bodied shiraz that will drink well as a young wine but will reward those patient enough to stash it away for another 10-15 years.

Pecorino is the native white variety from the Abruzzo region where the De Iuliis family immigrated from. A trip to Abruzzo in 2022, inspired Mike to pay homage to winemaking of the region and so, the release of the 2025 Steven Vineyard Pecorino marks a new stylistic direction for our pecorino.
