Verdelho, as a variety, has an extensive history in the Hunter Valley.In the early 1820s, pioneering figures like James Busby and John Macarthur brought Verdelho from Europe. Initially, it was used mainly for fortified wines.
These vines that produce this Estate Verdelho were planted on our Lovedale Road property in the early 90s.

The Wilderness Road Vineyard is located on the sandy creek flats in Lovedale. The alluvial soil in this vineyard is nutrient rich producing an iconic style of Hunter Semillon known for it’s finesse and potential for your cellar.

The Hunter Valley is renowned for producing some of the best Semillon in the world. These vines are planted on our Lovedale Road property in the early 90’s. Pale lime green in appearance, with a bouquet of intense lemon and lime characters. This wine, in its youth, displays fresh Meyer lemon characters, a light palate, and a crisp line of refreshing acidity.

The grapes for our Single Vineyard Semillon are sourced from an iconic Hunter Valley vineyard. The fruit was hand-picked and gently whole-bunch-pressed to a tank before a slow, cool fermentation. Refined and elegant, this Semillon has a long life ahead of it.

From our family-owned Steven and LDR vineyards, only the most exceptional barrels of our handpicked Chardonnay were chosen. This isn’t just a wine; it’s the culmination of decades of dedication, crafted to embody everything we cherish in Chardonnay — an elegant, complex, and beautifully balanced expression of the Hunter Valley.

One of the great wines of Australia, Hunter Shiraz is powerful as it is subtle, with pure fruit flavours balanced by spice and earthy characters. We use different parcels of fruit from our family vineyards to create a regional style that can be enjoyed now or in the not-to-distant future.

From our family vineyards, where merlot and shiraz grapes thrive, to the careful cool fermentation process that captures their nuanced aromas, we dedicate ourselves to creating an exceptional rosé. This dedication shines through in a wine that consistently delights.

Winemaker Mike connects with his roots through Sangiovese, one of Italy’s most prized grapes. Planted in Australia since the 1970s, Sangiovese offers a unique bridge between Mike’s heritage and his Australian winemaking experience. Like the Italians love to do, this food-friendly wine is perfect for sharing and savouring with loved ones.

A small parcel of Tempranillo was transplanted on our Lovedale Road property from a friend’s vineyard in 2018. Transplanting is not common practice in viticulture, and certainly not the style of transplanting that involves the back of a ute and some precariously placed occy straps.

Crafted with care, this Hunter Chardonnay embodies modern excellence. The grapes are handpicked from our family vineyards, with each site reflecting its unique character. A labour of love, Mike cherishes its versatility—equally delightful with food or savoured on its own.
