SUMMARY:De Iuliis Wine Dinner at The Grand Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Indulge your senses in an exquisite evening of culinary delight at the Grand Hotel. Join us for a spectacular 4-course Wine Dinner\, where each course is expertly paired with exceptional De Iuliis wines. Hard to pronounce. Exceptional to drink. Celebrate award-winning Hunter Valley wines made by Mike for everyday enjoyment. \n“Wine has been a tradition in my family for four generations. My great-grandfather Donato and my dad Joss used to cross the mountains of Abruzzi in Italy to fill barrels of must with Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. They would return to Pescara on horseback where the wine would be poured and shared amongst the community. It was from fond memories of these trips that my father would dream of owning his own vineyards\, and to never ride a horse ever again.” \n– Mike De Iuliis \nIn 1987\, Mike’s folks bought a 20-hectare cattle grazing property on Lovedale Road and worked for three years regenerating the soil ready for planting their first vines. Semillon and chardonnay were the first vines to be planted\, and the next year they added shiraz\, merlot and verdelho. \nIn 2004\, Mike was selected as a scholar for the Len Evans Tutorial. Known throughout the world as the most exclusive wine school\, the Len Evan Tutorial’s aim is to equip scholars with the tools and skills to evolve the quality of Australian wines\, in terms of both style and technical attributes\, and to give them the confidence to broadcast the incredible quality of Australian wine both locally and abroad. \nTickets include food and tastings of 7 wines.
